In the first semester I teach “Database Systems I” (undergraduate level) and “Data Management for the Web” (graduate level). Teaching material for these courses are available in the CorsiOnLine portal
I am responsible for Politecnico di Milano of Data-Life, an experimental didactic project jointly developed with NYU University, first with CUSP – Center for Urban Science and Progress (2020-2022) and then with the Computer Science Department (2023-current),
PAST TEACHING EXPERIENCES
I was responsible for Politecnico di Milano of Data-Shack, an experimental didactic project jointly developed with the Institute for Applied Computational Science (IACS) at Harvard’s John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) (2016-2019).
I was one of the creators (2004-2007), then vice-director (2007-2010) and then director of Alta Scuola Politecnica, the school of excellence for top-level master students selected from Engineering, Architecture, and Design Faculties of Politecnico di Milano and Politecnico di Torino (October 2010 – September 2013).
Together with Benny Benerije (Stanford D-School) and Paola Bertola (Dept. of Design, Politecnico di Milano), I organized several workshops at Villa Grumello in Como on the topic of fostering innovation in acedemia and industry. The main outcome of this work is the book Creating Innovation Leaders (Springer-Verlag, 2015), including a first foundational part and then a second part with chapters dedicated to innovative graduate programs at Stanford, Harvard, Philadelphia, OOCAD (Canada), Tonjii (China), Milano-Torino (ASP), Paris, Brighton, Aalto, EIT,
I was chairman of LaureaOnLIne, a fully online curriculum in Computer Engineering, offered by Politecnico di Milano (2004-2008).
